Binding Spell

A serious ritual for serious situations

A binding spell is meant to stop genuinely harmful or criminal behavior. It is not for gossip, insults, bad grades, or minor conflicts. Use it only when someone is causing serious harm.

Binding Spell ritual poster with a poppet bound in red thread, a candle, moon phases, and seven ritual steps

Begin with discernment

  1. Create a poppet to represent the person you are binding. Focus on their name while you make it, write their name on it, or sprinkle it with consecrated water.
  2. Ask the deities or spiritual powers you work with to help prevent the harmful act from being repeated.
  3. Raise energy through chanting, singing, prayer, or another method. State exactly what behavior you intend to stop.
  4. At the peak of the ritual, wrap red thread around the poppet while focusing on the behavior being restrained. Tie a knot to seal the binding.
  5. Place the finished poppet on your altar and formally conclude the ritual.

Never wish harm, injury, or revenge on the person. The goal is to stop the harmful action, not harm the individual. If someone is being abused, assaulted, exploited, or otherwise endangered, seek practical support and involve the appropriate authorities alongside any spiritual practice.

Spell 02

A Love Spell for Self-Devotion

A ritual for remembering your own worth and welcoming the love that honors it.

An ornate self-love altar with a mirror, red roses, a candle, and a crescent moon

You will need

  • A pink or red candle in a safe holder
  • A small mirror
  • Rose petals or any flower that feels meaningful to you
  • A scrap of paper and a pen

Practice

  1. Arrange the mirror, candle, and flowers in a quiet place. Light the candle with care.
  2. Write three qualities you love, protect, or are learning to see in yourself.
  3. Look into the mirror and say each one aloud, slowly and without apology.
  4. Place the paper beneath the mirror and say: “I welcome love that is kind, mutual, and true. I begin by giving it to myself.”
  5. Let the candle burn only while you are present to tend it, then keep the note somewhere private.
Spell 03

A Protection Spell for Your Space

A simple ward for the room, doorway, or corner that should feel like your own.

An ornate protection altar with a bowl of salt water, rosemary, a candle, and a key

You will need

  • A small bowl of water
  • A pinch of salt
  • A candle in a safe holder
  • A sprig of rosemary, bay, or another protective herb if you have one

Practice

  1. Add the salt to the water and stir it clockwise three times.
  2. Light the candle and stand at the entrance to your space.
  3. Dip your fingers into the water and trace a small protective mark at the doorway, windowsill, or threshold.
  4. Say: “Only what is welcome may enter here. May this space be calm, guarded, and mine.”
  5. Set the herb near the doorway or on a windowsill. When you are ready, pour the remaining water outside or down the drain.
Spell 04

A Divination and Focus Ritual

A quiet practice for gaining clarity and choosing where to place your attention, rather than trying to force an outcome.

An ornate divination altar with Tarot cards, rune stones, a steaming cup, a candle, and a crescent moon

You will need

  • One Tarot card, a few rune stones, or a cup of tea or coffee
  • A quiet surface
  • A scrap of paper and a pen

Practice

  1. Settle in and ask one gentle question: “What needs my attention today?”
  2. Choose your practice. Draw one Tarot card, cast a few rune stones, or stir your morning cup clockwise while holding the question in your mind.
  3. Notice the first image, word, memory, or feeling that rises. Do not force an answer or try to turn it into a prediction.
  4. Write down what you noticed, then name one small, practical action that would honor it.
  5. Close by saying: “I welcome clear sight, steady attention, and the wisdom to choose my next step.”
Spell 05

A Prosperity Spell for Opportunity

A ritual for opening yourself to steady work, wise choices, and the opportunities that support you.

An ornate prosperity altar with a green candle, coins, bay leaves, cinnamon, and an open ledger

You will need

  • A green or gold candle in a safe holder
  • A coin or bill
  • A small piece of paper and a pen
  • Cinnamon, basil, or a bay leaf if you have one

Practice

  1. Write one practical step that brings you closer to the stability or opportunity you seek.
  2. Place the coin or bill beside the candle and light it with care.
  3. Hold the paper between your hands and say: “I welcome honest opportunity, steady abundance, and the wisdom to use both well.”
  4. Place the herb beside the paper, then keep the paper where it will remind you to take the next practical step.
  5. Carry the coin or bill until the intention has become part of your daily rhythm, then spend or save it with gratitude.

May your practice be guided by wisdom, compassion, and discernment.
